Non-Executive Independent Director
Born and bred in the Waikato, Martin completed a Bachelor of Management Studies (BMS) in 1992 and soon embarked on a career with various manufacturing organisations, holding senior management positions with Heat and Control Ltd and Sleepyhead Manufacturing Ltd.
During this time, he also became a member of the NZ Institute of Accountants, the NZ Institute of Management and the Institute of Directors.
In 2008, Martin purchased a shareholding in Waratah Farms Ltd and took up the role of executive director. This evolved him into buying various other businesses in the agricultural sector and taking on several directorships both in New Zealand and offshore.
Since his appointment as independent director of EMDA in September 2018, Martin has been instrumental in helping the business deliver shareholder returns, and creating a safe and stimulating environment in which all staff can grow and develop.
Besides his professional life at EMDA, Martin is an avid sports enthusiast with a penchant for rugby, cricket and motor racing.
